Resolutions Adopted in the meeting of Golden Jubilee held on 14th February, 2011

GOLDEN JUBILEE RESOLUTIONS OF HOSTEL NO. 2

A meeting was held on 14.02.2011 at Hostel No. 2 of J.E.C regarding the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the hostel. It was presided over by Mr. Bhaba Chetia (First monitor of our hostel) in the presence of Prof. B.N. Choudhury, Satish Kuli, Joydeep Sharma (Supdt. Of Hostel), Dinesh Brahma and many other ex-boarders.

  The meeting adopted the following resolutions:

1. 1.     It was decided that the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Hostel will be organized on 9^th and 10^th of April 2011 (tentatively). The dates are subject to change only in the exceptional cases of clash with the coming assembly elections.
2. 2.     It was also resolved that the publicity of the event of Golden Jubilee is to be made huge. To this effect, advertisement in the leading local and national dailies was proposed.
3. 3.     It was also resolved to collect maximum no. of contacts of the ex-boarders, ex-superintendents and well-wishers of the hostel.
4. 4.     It was found that the hostel lacks a good library, a good gymnasium etc. To this effect  it was resolved to get the following done along with the celebration:

·        A library, for which Prof. Bibekananda Choudhury has proposed to donate a good number of books initially.

·        Gymnasium equipments: There is a very little no. of gym equipments in the gym room of the hostel which requires a good attention.

·        A Server P.C. set with LAN equipment: At present the server of the internet in the hostel is maintained in the P.C. of some boarder due to the absence of an exclusive P.C. in the hostel. So it is much required.

·        A Table-tennis board: The T.T. board of the hostel is totally wrecked due to which the good players of the hostel do not get the chance to practice. So it is a prime need.

·        A motor set: There is frequent disturbance of both electricity and water distribution due to which the boarders have to face serious problems. So a motor set is a prime need.

·        Fence and wall in garden: The garden of the hostel must be protected from stray animals for which we require fence and wall to surround the garden.

·        Golden Jubilee Gate.

·        Aqua-guard: The water which is supplied to the hostel is not at all hygienic due to which there is frequent outburst of water-borne diseases like diarrhea. 

·        Golden Jubilee Souvenir.

·        Repairing of the SHIV MANDIR that is in the midst of the Hostel garden.

·        Roof Coloring.

·        Golden Jubilee T-Shirts for all the present and past boarders to signify the golden jubilee celebration of the hostel.

·        Sofa-Sets: It is one of the prime requirements in the common room of the hostel.

·        Wi-Fi.

·        Golden Jubilee Monument to signify the golden jubilee celebration.

1. 5.      An interim committee was formed which is subject to addition and deletion on the next meeting to be held on 27^th of February, 2011 (SUNDAY).
2. 6.     The next meeting was proposed  to be held on 27^th February, 2011 and here the final celebration committee and the schedule of the events will be prepared.
